This panel, titled "Looking at the Future: Trends & Challenges," is the first of the workshop "A Strategic Nexus: the Euro-Mediterranean Region and China" organized by the ChinaMed Project and Formiche - in partnership with the Center for the Mediterranean Area Studies of Peking University, the Institute for Global Cooperation and Understanding of Peking University, the TOChina Hub of the University of Turin, the Georgetown Representative Office in Rome, the Moshe Dayan Center for Middle Eastern and African Studies and the Department of East Asian Studies of Tel Aviv University. This workshop aim to address trends and challenges of the growing interconnection between the Euro-Mediterranean Region and China and its potential impact on regional and global dynamics.

Dr. Anastas Vangeli will deliver a virtual lecturer hosted by the Yenching Academy on China's role in the Balkans.

Applications are now open for the 2021 edition of the ChinaMed Business Program. The next edition will exceptionally take place in Europe from July 19 to August 13, 2021.

Together with the ChinaMed-Tel Aviv University Joint Workshop, this year's ChinaMed Symposium was organized online within the framework of the TOChina Summer School as part of two days dedicated to the research agenda of the ChinaMed Project.

The aim of the School is to work at the intersection between China’s long-term structural transformations in socio-political, economic and cultural terms, and those particularly salient trends that are currently informing international debates on China. Moroever, the two final days of the School will be dedicated to the ChinaMed research agenda with scholars from our partner institutions.
