ChinaMed Project Head of Research Andrea Ghiselli is one of the speakers at the “China and the Middle East” panel, organised by King’s College London as part of the Lau China Institute’s China Week 2026, a series of events examining China’s changing role in the world.

The panel will take place on Friday, 23 October 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 (London time) at King’s Building, Strand Campus, London.

The discussion also includes Jonathan Fulton (Zayed University), Mohammed Al-Sudairi (Australian National University), Émilie Tran (Hong Kong Metropolitan University), and Reyhaneh Fallah-Noshiravani (Freeman Air and Space Institute, King’s College London).

The panel will examine how China and Middle Eastern countries are navigating a changing international order, with particular attention to the growing ties between China and the region through trade, investment, diplomacy, and institutions such as BRICS. The discussion will consider what these developments reveal about the evolution of global governance and the prospects for a more multipolar international system.
